Carol Sue Martens, 80, passed away Monday, March 6, 2017. Sue was born in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1937. She met John, her husband of 56 years, while attending Nebraska Wesleyan University to earn her teaching certificate. She taught first grade for a year in Fremont, Nebraska before they married and migrated to Texas in 1958 so John could pursue an engineering degree at SMU in Dallas. She enjoyed her career as an accountant for several years at Bekins, Mayflower and finally Elfab before retiring once both kids completed college. Beautiful, intelligent, kind and creative, she...

Carol Sue Martens, 80, passed away Monday, March 6, 2017. Sue was born in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1937. She met John, her husband of 56 years, while attending Nebraska Wesleyan University to earn her teaching certificate. She taught first grade for a year in Fremont, Nebraska before they married and migrated to Texas in 1958 so John could pursue an engineering degree at SMU in Dallas. She enjoyed her career as an accountant for several years at Bekins, Mayflower and finally Elfab before retiring once both kids completed college. Beautiful, intelligent, kind and creative, she has contributed so much to her family and friends. We can honor her by incorporating any of her extraordinary qualities into our own lives.
Per her request, no service will be held.
An informal "Celebration of Life" reception will be held at Moore Funeral Home Saturday, March 25, 2017 from 1pm to 4pm. Please stop by and share your memories of Sue with her family and the many friends she made throughout her life. The family asks that no flowers be sent. Instead, donations can be made to your favorite charity or to the Alzheimer Association.
